Institutional Standards

Editorial Standards

Authorship, review, corrections, originality, disclosures, and responsible use of AI in Society publications.

Last reviewed July 11, 2026

Authorship and review

Published work identifies its credited author and publication date. Submissions may be edited, returned for revision, declined, or corrected. Acceptance is an editorial decision and is never guaranteed by a submission fee.

Originality and disclosure

Authors must disclose prior publication, material conflicts of interest, and permissions needed for third-party material. Sources should be named wherever a factual or scholarly claim depends on them.

AI-assisted material

Automated tools may support research organization, translation, or language editing, but they do not replace accountable human authorship or review. Fabricated citations, identities, experience, or credentials are prohibited.

Corrections

Material errors may be corrected with an updated date or editorial note. Substantive concerns can be sent to publications@americansociety.world.
